For guests

The Villages Lifestyle ID, explained

If you are staying in one of our homes and want to use the pools, recreation centers, pickleball or golf, you need a Lifestyle ID. It is straightforward, we handle the paperwork, and this page tells you exactly what to expect.

Send us your details early

This is the single thing that goes wrong. Lifestyle IDs are not issued the same day, and The Villages will not accept an application dated after you have already arrived. Get your guest details to us as soon as you book and it is a non-event.

Start your Lifestyle ID request

Takes about a minute. One entry per guest who wants amenity access — up to two per home.

How it works

Step 1

You book

Once your reservation is confirmed we send you a short form. Tell us which one or two guests should hold the Lifestyle IDs — the rest of your party uses free guest passes.

Step 2

We submit it

We file the application with The Villages Lifestyle ID Department as your home’s authorised representative. You do not need to contact them.

Step 3

They process it

Applications are handled in order received. It is not same-day, so the earlier you send your details the better.

Step 4

You collect it

Both ID holders stop by the sales center that covers your home, with photo ID — The Villages requires renters to collect in person. Open 7 days a week. We tell you which center and confirm when the cards are ready.

Lifestyle ID FAQ

What is a Lifestyle ID?

It is a temporary resident card issued by The Villages. It is what lets you use the community amenities during your stay — the pools, recreation centers, pickleball and golf. Without one you can still enjoy the town squares, restaurants and shops, which are open to the public, but you cannot use the resident amenities.

Do I need one?

Only if you want to use the amenities. The Villages issues a maximum of two Lifestyle IDs per home, so if there are more than two of you, the other guests use free guest passes instead — see below. Without either, you can still enjoy the town squares, restaurants and shops, which are open to the public.

How much does it cost?

The Villages charges a $50 non-refundable processing fee per request form — not per person. One form covers one or two Lifestyle IDs, and it is the same $50 either way, so if two of you want them there is no reason to only get one. Two is the maximum The Villages issues per property. That fee goes to The Villages, not to us. Payment is cash or check made out to “The Villages”, taken when you collect the cards — they do not accept credit cards.

Do I have to apply myself?

No. The Villages only accepts applications from the homeowner or their authorised representative, and we are the authorised representative for every home we manage. You give us your details once and we submit it for you.

What do you need from me?

For each guest who wants an ID: full name, mobile number, email address, and your home address — the one you actually live at, not the rental. We send you a short form to fill in after you book.

What about the rest of my party?

Once your Lifestyle IDs have been collected, you can get free guest passes for everyone else in your group at any Regional Recreation Center. They are good for up to 30 days and they cover most of what people come here for — the family and adult pools, pickleball, tennis, shuffleboard, bocce, and golf on both the championship and executive courses.

What can a guest pass NOT do?

Two things. Guest passes do not get you into the sports pools, and a guest-pass holder cannot reserve their own tee time — someone with a Lifestyle ID has to book it for them. So if anyone in your group plans to golf, give them one of the two Lifestyle IDs.

How long does it take?

It is not same-day. The Villages processes applications in the order they receive them, and asks that you allow at least 24 hours after processing before collection. Submit as early as you can — we ask for your details well before arrival for exactly this reason.

Can I apply after I arrive?

It is much harder. The Villages will not accept an application with an arrival date that has already passed — it gets rejected and has to be resubmitted, which costs you days. If your dates are close, tell us straight away and we will flag it.

Where do I pick it up?

At the sales center that covers your rental — there are four, and which one you use depends on where the home sits. North of 466: Spanish Springs Sales Center, 1120 Main Street (8am–5pm daily). South of 466 and north of 466A: Lake Sumter Landing Sales Center, 1000 Lake Sumter Landing (8am–6pm daily). South of 466A and north of Warm Springs Avenue: Brownwood Sales Center, 2705 W Torch Lake Drive (8am–6pm daily). South of Warm Springs Avenue: Welcome Home Center at Eastport, 6980 Central Lake Drive (8am–7pm daily). We tell you which one applies to your home and confirm when your cards are ready.

Do I need to bring anything?

Photo ID. Each person collecting a card has to come in themselves — The Villages does not let us, or anyone else, collect on your behalf, so both ID holders need to stop by. The sales centers are open seven days a week and it is a quick counter visit, not an appointment.

What if something goes wrong?

Contact us first — info@hastingshomeventures.com or (321) 635-0659. We deal with the Lifestyle ID office regularly and it is faster for us to sort it than for you to chase it. The office itself is on 352-753-6691.

Still have a question?

Ask us before you ask The Villages — we submit these every week and it is almost always faster for us to sort it out on your behalf.
