Vacation Rentals Near The Villages, FL

Most people land on a “near The Villages” search for one of two reasons. Either they saw a listing with a Sumterville or Wildwood address and could not tell whether it was actually in the community, or they assumed anything with a Villages address would be out of reach and started looking at the edges. Both are worth clearing up, and the honest answer is the same: the mailing city on a home here tells you almost nothing about how far you are from a town square.

Most homes on this site have a Sumterville address, some say The Villages, and a few say Wildwood or Okahumpka. The ones that do not say “The Villages” are on this page. Their road distance to the nearest Villages town square runs from 0.8 miles — a 3 minute drive — out to 3.5 miles, or 10 minutes. Those are routed road distances, not straight lines drawn on a map, because a straight line makes every home look closer to a square than it really is and we would rather you arrived knowing the real drive.

We can say more about some of these than others, so here is exactly what we know. Fifteen of the 20 sit inside a named Villages neighbourhood by reverse-geocode — Moultrie Creek, Waters Edge, Oak Hollow, Edenfield, St. Catherine, LaGrange, Well Point, Lake Denham and Cason Hammock. The other five return no neighbourhood boundary for their coordinates, so we publish nothing rather than guess a village name. We have had a village recorded wrong before and corrected it only because an owner told us, which is why the field is sourced and never inferred.

Geographically these cluster at the southern end of the community. Fifteen of the 20 are closest to Eastport, the newest of The Villages town squares — an entertainment district on Lake Denham with nightly music, restaurants and the Welcome Home Center. The other five are closest to Sawgrass Grove, which has live music most evenings, food trucks, pickleball courts and the Ezell Recreation Center nearby. The southern build-out is where most of the newer rental stock is, which is also why so many of these addresses are Sumterville rather than The Villages.

Nothing about these homes is a second-tier version of the ones with a Villages address. Eighteen of the 20 include a golf cart. Eleven are three-bedrooms and nine are two-bedrooms. They get the same turnover inspections, the same cleaners, and the same Lifestyle ID paperwork filed on your behalf — we are the authorised representative for every home we manage, so the postal city on the deed makes no difference to what you can use once you are here.

The costs are identical either way, and we would rather you saw them now than at checkout: cleaning is charged once per stay — $160 on most homes and a little lower on a few — $20 golf-cart insurance where a cart is included, and $50 per Lifestyle ID request form, which covers up to two IDs. There is no security deposit; we do not take them. Check-in is by keypad, so there is no lockbox and no key handover.

One honest limit. Our service area covers The Villages and the surrounding towns, but every home we currently manage sits within 4.4 road miles of a Villages town square. If what you actually want is a rental in Leesburg or Ocala proper, well away from the community, we are not the right people to call and will tell you so rather than sell you something adjacent.
