The Villages, Florida
A local guide to renting in The Villages
The Villages is one of the country's largest and most active 55+ communities — a self-contained town of golf, town squares, and year-round sunshine in Central Florida. It's also a uniquely strong rental market, especially for snowbirds. Here's what guests and owners should know.

A snowbird-driven market
Demand peaks from January through March as Northern retirees winter in Florida. Many prospective residents rent before they buy, which keeps seasonal and monthly demand strong.
Golf-cart life
In The Villages, a golf cart is transportation — guests use it to reach squares, pools, and golf. A home that includes a cart books faster and earns more.
Amenities everywhere
Executive and championship golf, recreation centers, pools, and nightly entertainment at the town squares — all part of the draw for guests.
The detail everyone gets wrong
The Lifestyle ID, explained
To use The Villages amenities — pools, golf, recreation centers — a temporary resident needs a Lifestyle ID card issued by The Villages. The homeowner (or their authorized representative) submits a Lifestyle ID request form for each stay, and guests pick up their cards at a sales center.
It's the step out-of-town managers fumble. Hastings Home Ventures handles the entire Lifestyle ID process for every booking, so your guests arrive to cards that are ready and you never have to think about it.
