Pet-Friendly Villages Rentals with a Golf Cart Included
Short answer: one home. Twenty-nine of the 31 houses we manage include a golf cart, but only one of them also takes dogs — a two-bedroom in the Village of Waters Edge that accepts a single dog under 20 lbs.
The two features rarely meet here. Carts are close to standard across our portfolio — nearly every home includes one. Dogs are the exception: most owners in The Villages do not allow them at all, so the honest overlap is a single house rather than a list.
That house is a two-bedroom, two-bath cottage sleeping four in the Village of Waters Edge, 1.7 miles and about a six-minute drive from Eastport. Behind it there is a covered lanai and open patio looking over green space rather than rear neighbours, and there is a washer and dryer in the home.
The pet terms come from the owner and we do not stretch them: one dog, under 20 lbs, flagged to us before you arrive, and a $100 pet fee for the stay. It is a non-smoking home. There is no pool or hot tub on site — the community pools are a short cart ride away.
The cart is an Evolution electric four-seater and it comes with the home rather than being rented separately. Florida requires a valid driver’s licence to operate one on public roads, and our own policy is that drivers must be 25 or older.
If those dates are already gone, tell us anyway. We will ask owners whether they would make an exception for a well-behaved dog on a longer stay — that is a real question we put to them, and it beats relabelling a home that does not take pets.
On cost, cleaning is charged once per stay rather than per night and varies by home, the Villages Lifestyle ID is $50 per request form covering up to two IDs, and there is no security deposit — we do not take them.
Where a cart is included there is a $20 insurance charge for the stay and a short liability waiver to sign — the access code is emailed to you automatically once it is done.

How big a dog can I bring?
One dog, under 20 lbs. That is the owner’s limit rather than ours, and it is not something we can negotiate on this home. Tell us about your dog before you book and we will confirm it against the property rather than leaving it to check-in.
How much is the pet fee?

What if the dog-friendly home is booked for my dates?
Tell us anyway. Owners occasionally make an exception for a well-behaved dog on a longer stay, and we are happy to put the question to them. What we will not do is relabel a home that does not take pets so the list looks longer.

How far is it to a town square?
Eastport is 1.7 miles, about six minutes by road. Sawgrass Grove is 3.7 miles or roughly eleven minutes, and Brownwood Paddock Square is 10.1 miles, about twenty-one minutes. Those are road-routed drive times — cart paths run differently, so a cart ride is not the same journey.
Do I need a Villages Lifestyle ID?
Only if you want the pools, recreation centers, pickleball or golf. It is $50 per request form — not per person — and one form covers one or two IDs. Two is the maximum The Villages issues per home; everyone else in your group uses free guest passes from any Regional Recreation Center. We apply on your behalf, so you never contact The Villages yourself. Payment is cash or check made out to “The Villages” when you collect the cards — they do not take credit cards. It is not same-day, so send us your details as early as you can.
Is it cheaper to book direct?
Yes. Booking with us directly avoids the platform service fee Airbnb and Vrbo add at checkout, and you deal with the people who actually manage the home rather than a call centre.
